Terms for EnergyScope's information, tools, subscriptions, reminders, enquiries and referral-preparation services, based on the provider's actual scope while preserving mandatory rights.
Important publication status
Provider-facing terms draft — not yet the operative production contract
These terms reflect the current EnergyScope V1 boundaries. The operator's legal name, geographic address, formal contact details, governing law and jurisdiction, and legal review are not yet approved. EnergyScope will not invent them or describe this draft as legally certified.
These terms govern browsing, tools, downloads, subscriptions, reminders, and contact messages, complaints or business energy enquiries. Purpose wording, confirmations and specific conditions on an individual form also apply.
Reading or using a tool does not subscribe you, create an enquiry or permit a referral; each action requires a separate choice.
Anyone submitting for an organisation should have reasonable authority to deal with its energy matter.
Mandatory statutory rights remain if you use home-energy education as an individual consumer.
If language versions appear inconsistent, contact EnergyScope; no single controlling-language version is yet approved.
Provider role
EnergyScope provides information, organisation tools and referral preparation
The primary audience is UK Chinese-speaking businesses; home energy is a secondary educational topic. Site content does not create an energy supply contract.
Currently provided
General education about energy markets, contracts, LOAs, commission, billing and complaints.
No-registration renewal-date, quote-cost and complaint next-step tools.
Separately chosen information subscriptions and renewal-reminder workflows.
Business energy enquiries that first identify needs; named-partner referrals require every gate.
EnergyScope is not
An energy supplier, electricity or gas network, regulator, or the Energy Ombudsman.
A law firm, accountant or investment adviser, and it does not give case-specific legal advice.
A domestic switching or whole-market comparison service, or a lowest-price guarantee.
Authorised to sign, cancel or accept an offer for you without a separate specific disclosure and confirmation.
Separate service choices
Three service journeys are not bundled together
Using one category does not automatically create consent or a record for another.
1
Reading, tools and downloads
Available without registration or contact details; tool inputs are currently processed in the browser.
No automatic subscription, sales lead or transfer to a broker.
2
Subscriptions and reminders
Records follow the topic, channel or contract date selected; newsletters require confirmation.
A renewal reminder is not ongoing marketing consent, and each purpose can be cancelled separately.
3
Business enquiries and referrals
An initial enquiry only identifies needs; the partner, data purpose and remuneration relationship must be shown before handoff.
Manual handoff requires specific confirmation and every operational gate.
Charges and remuneration
Current public V1 reading material, downloads and tools are free to the user. ‘Free’ does not rule out disclosed remuneration under a future arrangement; no named partner or remuneration arrangement is approved for publication.
Any paid service must show provider identity, total price, taxes, service, payment and cancellation conditions before an order. These terms do not pre-authorise an unknown charge.
Your responsibilities
Provide reasonable information and use the service lawfully
Submit only information you are entitled to use and share, and keep it reasonably accurate.
Check original contracts, suppliers, official sources and appropriate professional advice before contracting, paying, cancelling, complaining or relying on market data.
Keep copies of downloads, results, form confirmations and important correspondence; email or network delivery cannot be guaranteed as immediate.
Do not place passwords, full payment-card data, identity documents, signatures or unnecessary sensitive data in free-text fields.
Unacceptable use
Bypassing authentication, authorisation, rate limits, publication gates or data review.
Probing, scanning or attacking the service, distributing malware, or interfering with another person's use.
Impersonating someone, submitting fraudulent or unlawful content, or acting for an organisation without authority.
Bulk scraping, reselling or republishing the site, database or licensed data, or implying endorsement.
Information, data and tools
Content is an input to a decision, not a quote or guarantee
EnergyScope takes reasonable steps to show sources, dates, units, publication status and limitations, but energy data, rules, third-party pages and market conditions can change.
Market data
Charts can have different sources, frequencies and units. They are not live tradable prices, supplier quotes, investment advice or forecasts. Formal display requires source, series, snapshot and publication gates.
Tool results
Renewal dates, annual costs and complaint routes organise your inputs under stated rules. They do not determine contract validity, an actual bill, eligibility, liability, compensation or savings.
Education and templates
Bilingual terms, questions and LOA or complaint samples must be adapted to the facts. They are not official forms, legal documents or case-specific advice ready for signature.
News and links
Articles are original summaries based on identified sources. A link does not mean a third party endorses EnergyScope or that EnergyScope controls its content.
Do not rely on the site alone for decisions with significant financial, contractual or legal consequences. Verify with the supplier, regulator or redress body, or an appropriately qualified adviser.
Enquiries and partner referrals
An enquiry is not permission to transfer data to a third party
EnergyScope may first answer a business energy contact request you initiate, but submission does not create blank or ongoing referral authority.
1Record the needs and contact preference submitted.
2If referral may be suitable, first identify the partner, each party's role, purpose, fields shared and EnergyScope's remuneration relationship.
3Obtain confirmation for that handoff and retain the wording version, time and permission evidence.
4Handoff requires partner, data-use and operational gates. ‘Awaiting handoff’ is not the same as handed off.
Any quote, LOA, broker service or supply contract is offered by the relevant third party on its terms. An introduction is not an EnergyScope endorsement, whole-market search or outcome guarantee.
Subscriptions, reminders and email
External email is enabled only after production configuration and readiness gates. A system failure is not reported as a successful send.
Newsletters use double opt-in and can be cancelled by topic.
Renewal reminders follow the date provided and remain separate from ongoing marketing.
A reminder is only an aid; you must still check contract end and notice dates and delivery.
Content and intellectual property
Use resources reasonably without turning the platform or data into your product
The brand, page arrangement, original writing, code and design are protected by applicable rights. Official data, trade marks and third-party content remain with their owners and licences.
Subject to page notices and third-party licences, you may:
Read content and use tools for yourself or internal energy management.
Download, adapt and use checklists, questions or sample templates expressly offered for that purpose.
Share a public-page link and reasonable short quotation with EnergyScope and original-source attribution.
Without written permission, you must not:
Remove attribution, source, date, risk warning or publication status.
Copy in bulk, mirror, resell, license or build a competing database or service.
Use EnergyScope's name, branding or content to imply partnership, certification, endorsement or official status.
Third-party sites and services
External sites have their own terms, privacy and cookie rules. EnergyScope does not control their updates, security, availability or decisions. Check the destination and terms when leaving the site.
Operating the service
The service may be maintained, corrected, restricted or withdrawn
EnergyScope may modify or suspend a function for security, law, data rights, data quality, maintenance or product changes.
The site and external data sources are not guaranteed to be uninterrupted, real-time or error-free.
Unapproved, stale, incorrect or unlicensed content may first be withdrawn, labelled or corrected.
Access that breaches these terms or threatens the service may be restricted; security and audit records remain subject to applicable rules.
New charges, purposes or partner permissions will not be applied retrospectively to an earlier choice.
Responsibility and liability
Limitations apply only so far as lawful and fair
Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by EnergyScope's negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or liability the law does not permit to be excluded.
Business use
To the extent permitted by law, EnergyScope is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, revenue or opportunity, arising solely from reliance on general information, estimates, unapproved data, third-party content or an undelivered reminder. This does not replace express commitments or legal duties.
Consumer statutory rights
Where the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other mandatory consumer law applies, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill and statutory rights and remedies remain. An unfair or opaque consumer term does not become enforceable merely because it appears here.
Any formal liability cap, governing law and dispute provision requires legal review against the operator identity, insurance, charges and territory. This draft inserts no arbitrary amount and does not claim effect.
Changes to these terms
The page will show its version and date. Material changes will be reasonably highlighted and take effect prospectively as required by law. New consent, charges or specific confirmation cannot be obtained merely by editing this page.
Privacy and cookies
The privacy notice explains data purposes and separated workflows; device preferences have a separate cookie notice. A general policy does not replace the specific disclosure before a named-partner referral.
Give EnergyScope an opportunity to understand and address the issue
Use the relevant route for a site or content issue and keep the confirmation. A supplier or broker dispute should use the rights-centre routes rather than be treated as a complaint about EnergyScope.
General question or content error: the contact and correction form.
Complaint about EnergyScope's service: the EnergyScope complaint form.
Supplier or broker dispute: the business-energy complaint guide and actual service provider.
Governing law and jurisdiction
The formal choice remains pending operator identity and legal review. This draft does not use unverified details to claim exclusive jurisdiction for the courts of England and Wales. Final wording must preserve mandatory consumer rights where the person lives.
